Highland Park - Villas Lift Station
The Villas Lift Station project in Highland Park, IL involved the replacement of pumps and pump controls, coating of the wet well, valve vault, and piping, and installation of a new natural gas engine generator. The project presented unique challenges in bypass pumping and impacts to residents, as the upstream manhole is located within a driveway across a roadway and traditional bypass pumping would involve disruption to residential traffic and the use of a private driveway.
Coordination with the client, contractor, and residents led to an innovative solution to traditional bypass pumping that eliminated the need for the bypass pumping hose to be installed in a roadway and minimized impacts to the resident’s driveway. The project was completed from 2022–2023, with key team members including Diane Moeller and Paul Ruscko.
