Minooka - McEvilly Road

 

Overview

• The trail was needed as a result of a near fatal pedestrian/vehicle
   accident that occurred in 2011.
• The Village needed to create a continuous, safe, non-motorized
   pedestrian way and bicycle trail linking four different subdivisions to
   the existing trail system.
• Phase I, II & III Engineering, as well as construction, processed through
   IDOT/District.

Scope
• Connected the existing path in Lions Park (approximately 1/2 mile east
  of Ridge Road) to an existing path at Vista Court
• From Lions Park the existing multi-use path extends west to Ridge
  Road providing a safe continuous non-motorized link to various areas
  throughout Minooka
Results

• Improved pedestrian and bicycle safety
• Provided a connection between two disconnected paths
• Received Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program funding
• Received Will County Government League Surface Transportation (STP)            Funding
