Highland Park - Underground Storage Tank, Diesel & Gasoline, Fueling System

Design and construction observation services were provided for a large fueling system, designed in collaboration with City staff and other public entities to meet the future fueling needs of the City and the large buses utilized by Ravinia during the concert season. A critical design component included siting considerations required by the Village to reroute vehicles with minimal impact to City residents.

The project scope included design and construction observation, with design elements incorporating dark sky lighting, pavers for site parking, and fuel monitoring systems for the Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) to properly aggregate costs among the various public entities. These efforts resulted in equipping vehicles with onboard monitoring to provide fleet managers with vehicle operational data, including mileage, onboard computer diagnostic updates, and vehicle maintenance needs, enabling efficient and precise preventative maintenance planning for the aging fleet and extending its life cycle.
