Lansing Fox Pointe Development Amphitheater & Civic Space
Fox Pointe was constructed on just over six acres of Village-owned property strategically located adjacent to commercial and retail developments, residential areas, and other publicly owned land. The project was anchored by an amphitheater, complemented by an open-air pavilion, restroom facility, and concession/ticket booth designed by JMA Architects. Site development was implemented in accordance with the landscape architect’s plan, with comprehensive civil engineering design including sanitary and storm sewer systems, water main infrastructure, parking facilities, and site lighting. The project also required full stormwater management for the site, achieved through the integration of four bio-retention facilities, a network of storm sewers, and an underground detention system consisting of 84-inch diameter pipes.
Significant coordination and design efforts were required to realign multiple public streets into a single new roadway configuration and to combine two existing roads, incorporating civil engineering elements from a conceptual rendering prepared by Ives Ryan Group. Throughout construction, close coordination was maintained with the Village, architects, and multiple contractors to ensure successful project delivery. The final design provided a cost-effective underground detention solution, incorporated LED parking lot and decorative street lighting, and included the realignment of the Pennsy Greenway Bike Path to enhance connectivity and site integration.
