Dyer Central Park
This project will convert 77 acres of an old farm field into a municipally owned multi-use park, including a splash pad, miniature golf, an outdoor amphitheater seating approximately 1,000 people, soccer and baseball fields, walking paths, gardens and a sculpture walk, four parking lots, and a Veterans Memorial.
The project scope includes preparing grading and drainage plans to accommodate significant grade changes, designing six new ponds, and completing design for the amphitheater, Veterans Memorial, and baseball complex, along with responsibility for site construction observation and field layout. Additional efforts include working with multiple contractors for construction of the dugouts and communicating and coordinating with various manufacturers of park equipment to advise the Park Board on available options.
The project results in a new multi-use park incorporating green features such as a bio-swale for filtering storm water and permeable pavements or surfaces.
