Centennial Park

This project consists of a 2.75-mile shared-use path extending from the Little Calumet River to the Illinois/Indiana state line within the Village limits of Lansing, IL. The 10-foot-wide bituminous, bidirectional path was designed to provide a continuous recreational and transportation corridor, with planning, permitting, design, construction, and engineering services provided.

The project scope included requesting environmental clearances, preparing preliminary design plans, existing cross sections, and alignment, and developing final design plans in accordance with AASHTO guidelines and ADA requirements, including proposed cross sections and drainage. Additional efforts included designing a beneficial route and constructing a 100-foot right-of-way. These improvements resulted in various access points for entrance and exit along the path, enhanced transportation alternatives, incorporation of landscape features, installation of trailhead directional signage, and implementation of safety features including stop signs and detectable warnings.
