Automated inspection methods, utilizing video and laser technology, were used to collect detailed distress and ride data for each road segment in the municipality. The data was then imported into Cartegraph's Pavement Management Module and displayed with ArcView GIS.
Thematic mapping allows us to classify the pavement condition based on the overall condition index and visualize the results as color coded street segments.
Simply clicking on the desired segment displays digital video and a wealth of information about the pavement.
This information can be used to predict future pavement conditions and aid in budget planning.
