Gary, Indiana:
Phase 1 for the City of Gary's GIS project included 50 square miles of mapping and digital ortho production in addition to the following layers of data:
- 6" pixel Digital Orthophotography
- 1’ Foot Contours
- Building Footprints
- Edge of Pavement
- Centerline of Pavement
- Public Walks
- Zoning Boundaries and Designations
- Hydrography
- Right-of Way
- Parcel Polygons (63,000+ parcels)
Phase 2 included attribute enhancements to some of the above mentioned layers of data. These attributes included linking the county parcel key number to the parcel polygons creating a link to other data sources like the county auditor’s real estate database and a master address database. The building footprints were also linked to the key number and property address. A generalized pavement centerline layer was created which included address ranges and street names for each segment in the pavement network. A similar layer was created for the alley centerline which included a unique ID as well as existing alley numbers assigned by the engineering department. Hydrology such as rivers, streams, lakes and ponds were given a unique ID and common name as attributes.
Calumet City, Illinois:
The initial GIS project included the development of all parcel polygons for the city. The following layers of data were also included:
- Master Address Database
- County Real Estate Database
- Floodplain and Floodway Boundaries
